Spring/Summer Edit #2: Denim Dungarees.

The second of my Spring/Summer Edit series: Denim Dungarees. They shouldn’t work, but they just do.

No longer adorned only by toddlers, Dungarees were seen at both Moshino & Philip Lim Spring/Summer 13 shows, with English model Alexa Chung also having been a fan of them for years. I’ll be wearing the nineties staple in a dark indigo wash, over lace blouses and anything with a collar, replacing Doc Martins (another 90’s classic, of course) with brogues and adding tortoise shell shades for more of a heritage twist. With overalls, I like to think it’s the minor details that keeps this look feminine, be it dainty jewellery or frilled ankle socks, unless you’re planning to go all out ‘N Sync-style, pairing back with these details can reinvent the trend in a more classic, and dare I say it, elegant way.

What do you think about the latest denim trend?
